On July 2, Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026\/1306 of 11 June, 2026, authorizing the placing on the market of rhamnogalacturonan-I enriched carrot extract (cRG-I) as a novel food and amending Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017\/2470<\/a><\/strong>, entered into force.<\/p>\n\n

The novel food product consists of a carrot pulp extract selectively enriched with rhamnogalacturonan-I domains through an enzymatic process (selectively degrading the pectin portion), followed by enzyme inactivation, further purification, heat treatment, drying, and pasteurization.<\/p>\n\n

It is authorized for use in various food categories, including food supplements, and the designation on the labeling of foods containing it must be rhamnogalacturonan-I carrot extrac<\/strong>t.<\/p>\n\n

For food supplements, the maximum permitted content shall be 1,500 mg \/ day<\/strong>, and the following warning must appear on the label: must not be consumed by children under 3 years of age<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n
